About Us
20+ Years of Local Care
For families in Lafayette facing housing instability and the people who want to support them, CCDC of Lafayette is a relationship-first community development organization that provides affordable housing, Getting Ahead, and long-term support so families can move toward stability with dignity, trust, and practical help. Unlike more transactional or rigid housing programs, CCDC starts with relationships and walks with families over time, offering more than a place to live: a place to call home and relationships that help them grow.
CCDC helps families move toward stability through affordable housing, practical growth tools, and trusted relationships.

Meet Ronda Ooms
Executive Director
Ronda has called the Lafayette area home for over 30 years. Outside of her dedicated community work, she and her husband, Bill, enjoy life with their four grown, married sons and are embracing the joy of grandchildren.
Ronda’s career has always been driven by a deep commitment to serving others. She began her journey as an elementary school teacher and later served as a Children’s Ministry Director. Through these roles, she grew aware of local challenges, fueling her passion to support underserved members of the community. In 2012, she became the first Community Outreach Director at The Grove Covenant Church. Recognizing a critical need for local housing solutions, Ronda championed a new housing initiative and successfully led the establishment of an independent community development corporation.
Ronda's leadership created the Covenant Community Development Corporation (CCDC), bridging the gap between critical community needs and sustainable housing solutions. For Ronda, the heartbeat of this work is simple: she is driven by a lifelong passion to help individuals overcome obstacles and fully realize their unique potential.
